Hello all. I'm still looking for a nice Sako-Browning Safari in .243 and have run across this one with the pencil barrel. It looks very nice, but is missing the rear sight blade as can be seen from the picture. Is there any source for these old sight blades. I don't think I'll buy it if I can't fix the rear sight. Is the sight base screwed on or is it soldered on?
Try looking for a Williams Gun Sight or check the Lyman website. They will have one to fit. I have your same rear site on my Browning Safari Grade 30-06. I believe they are soldered on. I believe you can buy just the dovetailed rear sight from either company and not have to buy the base. Great find on that .243. Big Max
