joined today after acquiring my 2nd Browning, this one a Safari grade in 308 Norm Mag. In great shape. The other I own is my FIL's older FN made in 06, not a Browning but a kissing cousin so to speak.

Regarding the Safari grade, I'm trying to date it. the SN is 3L 21612. The stock is an oil finish not the gloss urethane or lacquer of many I've seen. There is no evidence of refinish of the wood. The checkering and edges are sharp. The forearm is checkered and on the bottom there is an unchecked area in the shape of a diamond.

My guess so far is a late 50's gun. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. --Greg
