I've been searching for the past few days, since purchasing my 1911-22, for the optimum ammunition. I've received so many 'Theories' about what goes in it. And what would make it perform best with no FTFs and FTEs. I've heard: As long as it says High Velocity Minimum 1600 FPS at the muzzle 35+ Grains Hard to really follow or believe some of these. Maybe the minimum 1600 FPS is the most accurate. Unfortunately, once I find the optimum ammo, it'll be out of stock I'm watching the suggested sites for availability. Please advise on some of the best behaving ammo for the 1911-22.
i dont own a 1911-22 but i have shot other 22 caliber guns with Federal bulk and Remington Hi-Speed ammo and got pretty consistent results. Everybody has their own opinion on the best ammo, i would try a couple of different brands and see which one you like best.
Each and every firearm I own hits POA / POI with a different brand or load within that brand...so what may work in my 1911-22 may not in yours...that being said, high velocity in the way to go if you want reliable cycling of the firearm.

your pulling together some great info for the Browning 1911-22 regarding ammo!! are you planning on trying a box of each or start with the highest velocity first and go from there?
Please keep in mind, my 1911-22 A1 is only a couple weeks old. Not many rounds through it yet. ------------------------------------------------------------ Remington Viper Hyper Velocity Ammunition Total rounds fired 200 5 Fail to Feed per 50 3 Fail to Fire per 50 Grouping 8" (I'm fairly new to handguns) ------------------------------------------------------------ Federal AutoMatch Target Ammunition Total rounds fired 100 0 Fail to Feed per 50 0 Fail to Fire per 50 Grouping 2" (nearly each set, didn't know I could shoot like that) ------------------------------------------------------------ My wife and I really enjoyed the performance/accuracy of the Federal AutoMatch Ammo!!
Thanks for the update and sounds like the Federal AutoMatch Target Ammo was great for the 1911-22. Whats the Price difference between the two?
