Howdy everyone! I just acquired my first ever Browning BAR Short Trac in 300WSM! A buddy of mine has got me wondering if I made a bad decision? He said they're heavy, unwieldy, and not accurate. I held the rifle before getting it, and it seems to fit me very well. To me, it's as light or lighter than the Ruger M77 MKII 30-06 I traded it for. I've seen articles from the gun writers saying they got 1.5 inch groups or better. Plus, I've seen videos on YouTube showing other BAR's being tack drivers, but not of the model of BAR I have. I have a buddy who had one back in the late 80's, in 300 Win Mag, and his would shoot 1 inch or better groups. Any personal stories, or experience with Short Trac's will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance! HawkeyeSATX
Sounds like your buddy might be jealous... Enjoy your new BAR...and post a range report here after you find out you made the right decision...
I most certainly will post pics of my range session. I just needed positive feedback. My buddies BAR would print 1" groups all day long, and he had a 300 Win Mag.
