hello, I've been shooting for almost 45 years. I found this site while looking for info on my Auto 5 which I believe was made in 1938.
They all want you to pay for the "privilege" of No Ads...like THAT's gonna help !! How about: https://www.flickr.com/ ========================== Browning Serial Numbers: http://www.proofhouse.com/browning/index.html
Nice Auto-5, Edge. You stole it for $300. The NRA website says 1940, the one Shooter posted says 1939. Either way you got one of the last ones produced before FN was overrun by the Wehrmacht. http://www.nramuseum.org/media/940941/serialization-date of manufacture.pdf
Thanks Rudolph, I saw the NRA site, Brownings site says no production in 1940, approximate 228,000 end in 1939. At any rate the gun is in exceptional shape for its age. Proof house says only 1000 made in 39. http://www.proofhouse.com/browning/index.html
