If your into the origins and history of clay shooting and how the sport evolved from live bird shoots to where it is now this is the book for you. Word of warning this one is going to be hard to find.
This book is a collection of old trap shooting stories and history compiled by the late Dick Baldwin of Remington fame. Believe he also wrote for Field & Stream as well . Lot of people will remember him featuring as a young LH shooter in the Remington instructional feature film of the mid 60”s “Trapshooting with D Lee Braun”
This is an awesome book that captures the origins and stories from the early days of Doc Carver, Annie Oakley and JAR Elliot and progresses through the golden years of the “Grand” and all the characters and legends you would encounter armed with A5, Model 12’s and SxS into the 40’s 50’s 60”s and 70’s.
Lot of Dick’ personal reflections and knowing some of the people personally adds credibility and human touch.
There are plenty of off shoot field stories that spark humor and recollection of what we still see happen on the field today.
It will be hard to find but well worth it ,particularly if you like the history behind competitive shotgunning
