Ok folks when you register to be a new member, you will be asked your age. If you fail to fill that out correctly, you will be put on hold. You will receive an email from me about your membership. If you reply, then I will approve you. One member decided to make himself 100 years old. Nice try he got the email. I can do math so, be honest and things will go pretty smooth. There is a legit reason for your age. If anyone needs to discuss then reach out. Thanks Ranger6
I am still getting lots of questions about posting pictures, so I have made this a sticky and moved it to the top. The error message isn't going away until the update is completed. I have no word on when the update will happen, so a word to the wise is to get a picture hosting site account and learn to post pictures with that site. It is very easy and works well.

What did you put for your Birthday? If you selected 1900 you got declined. Did you fill out the gender correctly? If not, the computer declines your membership, because it thinks you are a spam bot. If you have a weird email, it can also happen. If you want to register again, I can help you get it done. If you select a username and password, you will need to use that when logging in. I do not see passwords that you select. The system does not assign either. Hope this helps. Well, I'm sorry to say, I must have created a PW weeks ago. I don't recall, nor have I written it down. I have been trying to use 'Your Account', then "Password', where is is asking me for 'Your Existing Password'. I don't recall, nor have I written it down. How should I proceed? Thanks in advance.

I recently signed up with a user name and password and thought I had joined the forum, but I see that I have been labeled a "lurker" with no permission to start or join a conversation. I did enter my birth date correctly. How do I become an actual member so that I can ask a question in the forum?

I had tried to post a question on a different thread three times over the last few days, but each time an "error" message appeared that said "The following error occurred: You do not have permission to view this page or perform this action." I just now tried to post my question again on the SA-22 forum and got the same error message. I thought maybe the reason I succeeded with the question above was that it was on the New Member Welcome thread. I was also wondering about my status as a "lurker." That somehow seems like an unfavorable label, and I don't know how I earned it. I have been trying (unsuccessfully) to post my original question on the SA-22 forum because it was about dating my Belgium SA-22. I have been to the Browning website that has the info about SA-22 SNs, but my Belgium SA-22 SN does not seem to fit any of their configurations, even though details of the rifle seem to suggest the 1961+ range. What am I doing wrong, and where/how should I try to post my question and upload some images? Again, thank you for your rapid reply.
The administrator on here Ranger 6 runs a good ship and is very prompt. There are known technical issues with the web site platform structure itself that cause problems from time to time so just hang patiently a bit and he will be along to assist you best possible.
I have seen the ugly red error box but only when trying to post pictures. Are you trying to post pictures with the message? If so then that’s the problem. To post pictures you will need to use a photo sharing site. There is also a post on this in the new member section. The lurker status is the first banner you get. It is assigned by the forum software. When you have enough post then it will change. It really means nothing in the big picture. See if you can reply to this thread? If so you can post anywhere. If not then I will send you a PM and we will get it figured out from there. Be patient. PM sent too
Thanks again for getting back to me quickly. I was able to post a question on a SA-22 forum thread but got the red error message when trying to upload the needed photos. I am using a Mac computer and don't know if that is part of the problem. I will do my best to solve my image upload puzzle. Thanks again.
The problem with the error message and uploading pictures is a known issue with the forum. It is not your computer. You will need to use a photo sharing site like Imgur to post pictures here.
