I'm interested in a Browning Sako-action Safari model in .222 Rem. (1964 manufacture). My question is: Is there information anywhere about the twist that these rifles had? I suspect it's probably 1-14, but I'm not sure of this. Thanks in advance for any help.
Welcome to the Browning Owners Forum Ralph !! From what I remember...1:14 sounds right... Looking at Chart link below 1:12...1:14...1:16 http://www.gsgroup.co.za/faqtwistratebymanuf.html ====================================== Misc Information: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.222_Remington http://bluebookofgunvalues.com/Gun_..._FN_High_Power_Safari_Grade_Short_Sako_Action http://www.gunsinternational.com/gu...action-39-new-in-box-39-.cfm?gun_id=100825447 http://www.gunsinternational.com/gu...fari-grade-rifle-222-rem.cfm?gun_id=100847054 http://customshopinc.com/product/br...64-classic-varmint-rifle-outstanding-shooter/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SAKO
Fletch, I did not purchase one. As for my original question, all research points to a 1:14 twist in those early Sakos and Sako-Brownings.
