Hello, I have a Sweet 16 I believe to be of the European Market. The S/N is different from other S/N’s I’ve seen. Does anyone know where I can find information on WM S/N’s or have an insight. Thanks in advance

Thanks I appreciate it, I use both forums to try and find out as much information that I can about the s/n. I’m hoping to possibly get pointed in a different direction I’ve not tried yet. I’ve reached out to browning and was told it could take 4-5 months to run a history report.

Um, if you’re using text to speech you may want to proof read before posting.

I’m at a loss, as I told you on the other site. It’s why I suggested contacting Browning. There’s no reference material that shows letter suffixes.

You’re welcome. There’s a g Date Code of the barrel that puts the gun’s date of birth in 1968. So your square knob is period correct.

I received my letter from Browning today and now I have more questions than answers. Does anyone know what the last year for the Belgium Sweet 16 was?

I don’t have my book at the moment but I believe Browning moved the Auto 5 production to Miroku in 1976. The Sweet stayed in production until the end.

What does your letter give you for information

The letter authenticates I have a Belgium made Sweet sixteen, 16 gauge semi automatic shotgun action. It was originally sold in the U.S. in January 1982. According to my book, the serial number was produced between 1974-75.

Would Browning have that in the warehouse that long would probably be my first question…

Very possible. I have seen a letter on grade II and it was made in 1929 and sold in 1933 in a hardware store.
