Why didn't JMB and Val design a decent mower between them and get FN on board? They could have sold the rights to John Deere... And it still be going 100 yrs later.

It's a balmy 20 degrees now. Which actually feels pretty good.

I was at the Sportsman's Club over the weekend getting "interviewed" so as to become a Full Member rather than just a Shooting Member. The Full Membership has access to all the amenities: Trap, skeet, sporting clays, 5-stand, archery, rifle range and fishing. The Shooting Member just has access to trap and sporting clays on the weekend.

Brought the shotguns to get in some range time before the interview. It was raining a little, so they just shut everything down. This was the third time they shut operations down since I joined. Once because it was 10 degrees and twice now because of a little rain. It kinda pisses me off as it takes about an hour to get there and no notification what so ever.

Are other clubs like this or doesn't anybody hunt/fish in the rain or when it gets cold anymore? I used to live in Washington State, it rained but it didn't stop outdoor activities.

I feel the pain. Local range does the same thing. If it's below 40 no go, if it's raining no go. If the wind is blowing, no go. I actually haven't been there in about a year and really don't miss it.

Just finished cleaning up kitchen from dinner. Kid wanted spaghetti, so that's what we had. It was pretty tasty. I even had enough for the Kitty that has been showing up.

Would have thought a paid membership sportsman club would be more professional and business like in its runnings.

Another round of practice with the bow. It's 40-yard week. I sure hate it, but my old eyes have trouble focusing on bullseye @40 yards enough to have tight group. I can still do at 30 yards but 40 not so much.

Is this with the compound or recurve? If the former, they do make various magnified lens for archery scopes. If its the recurve, 30-40 yards is respectable and in the kill zone. Depending on the recurve bow pull weight, going 50 yards or further with a heavier pull is just componding the aiming issue as now you may be getting more movement from the stress/shake of the hold in addition to the target acquisition.

this is with compound for now. I have a new recurve riser(satori), waiting on limbs. The limbs I want are expensive so as this is the first go at recurve, I will get some cheaper limbs just in case I don't like it. I am aware of the scopes for compound sight. They have them in 2, 4, 6 power for my sight. All the reviews I read are mixed; some say they have problems hunting with one and some say they are fine. I probably need to order one and try for myself. For this week I will stick with the glasses I hate. I didn't believe it until practicing today, but not being able to see the "bullseye" clear actually causes target panic.

Next time we zoom she better hide or I’m giving her hard time over that. That’s pretty funny cause teaching my daughter to back car into parking spot has been a chore. She told me today that she ducks at backing up. Not that I disagree but looks like her and Mrs. Auzzie will get along fine.
