Here is an easy one. I was excited when I saw this one titled near mint. Everything seems perfect, nice wood without scratches and dents and bluing almost impeccable. But a bit of visible sanding marks on the receiver. Then it jump in my face. Something didn’t fit, what is it?

Well, not much happening on this forum this month. I guess "easy peasy" is better than nothing. I don’t know what "easy peasy" means but I will use it in a casual discussion and see what will be the reaction of my audience.

I don’t understand, what does it having a square pistol grip stock prove or disprove?

It is the incorrect stock for that gun

Ok please educate me, what kind of stock is supposed to be on the gun?

    Round Knob 1903-1966.

Is it possible it could be a European or world market fn browning?

It’s actually probable if it’s there in Canada with Biz. Browning Arms didn’t import for Canada until 1959.

That shotgun is in Canada and it is the European version and it should have a round knob stock.

Which year is your Browning? Your pics are not very clear.

It being a European market gun as I suspect, I can’t find the serial number listed anywhere…

    Hey Biz, I’ve got a 16 from 1935 that’s very similar:

Except for the St. Louis address.

Gun in box looks like a post 1966 world market(sling swiveled) sweet 16. I do not have S&V book handy to look up serial numbers but FN had some Belgium runs after Browning used miroku for US market also?
