I looked ,seemingly forever, for a magazine loader for my 1911-22 magazines. These are the most finger-stressing of any brand of .22 magazines I own. The other plastic push down types I have ran $5 to $7 each and I hesitated to pay $20 for one, but this is absolutely the only one I could find: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Browning-1...-Loading-Aid-Tool-by-Turtlecreek/323649105098 It works!
Wow, I’d let my fingers bleed before I paid $20 for that. Or wear gloves. Actually, it looks easy enough to make. You could it use the thin (1/8”?) plywood they sell in hobby shops and craft stores. Don’t have the skills? You’re a grandmother; that suggests you have a son, son-in-law, or grandkid that could make it for you.
My shooting gloves slip right off that almost flat pull down "knob" and I do not have anyone anymore who could make a precise pattern and do the keyhole cut necessary. It has to be precisely right or it will not work. Time was, many decades ago before it ever occurred to me that someday I would be a serious shooter, I could have made one if I could have found a thick enough slab of plastic. Wood would tend to splinter as it was being used to push down on the almost flat "knob" - especially plywood.
I use something just like this https://www.amazon.com/Mag-Pal-RUGE...gazine loader&qid=1562935801&s=gateway&sr=8-9 I paid $4 at most for it. Tim.
OH YEAH - those loaders that are made for The Mark series are great and really cheap. Unfortunately they NO WAY will work with the Browning 1911-22 magazines which are a totally different size and shape.
