Hi All, New on the site, figured I would go on and hear what others might have to say about this rifle and any experiences. The reviews I had looked at before buying all were good...so... Was looking for something to do longer ranges and this seemed like a good deal for the money. And, Browning has a pretty good name and history! Can't wait to get on the range with this! Looks, feels great. Regards
OK...got to the range yesterday... zeroed in scope...and the X-bolt - target max worked perfectly! Think its my new favorite rifle...pretty accurate. Targets at 200yds, using Lapua cases, Hornady ELD TMK 140GR..there were some wind gusts going on... I'm happy!
Yes, hand loaded. I had all kinds of variables... new gun, new scope (had to zero), 3 different ammo types I put together (first time trying 6.5 creedmoore loads). So was not sure what I would get. But, it seemed to all work pretty well. Now can try improving things. Really like the browning...think its my 1st choice to shoot with now! I only have ranges maxed out to 200 yds...need to drive 150+mi to go to one with more range...that will be a future thing. The Hornady ELD TMK 140s and Laupua Scenars 139GR seemed to work the best at 200 yds. I have two other types to try next time, but for 6.5 creedmoore liking the Hornady's which are a bit cheaper. Spent like 3 hours at the range ( was also trying out my Mossberg patriot LR in 308, for 2nd time, with some test loads! (Here I like the sierra tipped match king 155gr) Regards
Good deal, yea sucks you have to drive to get past 200 yards. Same for me. Close range is only 100 yards.
Got to the range yesterday... Used my Xbolt...with my hand loads...it performed great...at 200yds...this is my goto rifle! It is a little heavy, but is really accurate.
