    Good day.
This Hi Power was handed down to me years ago, have not shot it much, but have fallen in love with the feel of the gun in hand. I actually now prefer the feel than that of my two 1911’s

I haven’t had much luck trying to date it, the serial seems to fall through a crack?

What can you tell me about this pistol? Is this a desired model?
For years I thought to leave it as is, but being a lefty I’ve decided to put an ambi-safety on it, any recommendation which would match the bluing the best?

Wow, that's amazing condition. Has it been re-blued?

    Thank you.
Don’t believe so. The condition is why I have hesitated altering in any way, but I’m not a collector. Now I’m thinking I should use it and enjoy it. Doubt I would ever sell it, so why not?

Did you look at the link? T prefixed Hi Powers started in 1964 and ran to 1970.

I did, but it was a little confusing, I’ll take another look.

man, I read that to be in 1969 they designated the letter C, and in 1970 the letter T.

I see C started shipping in 1969, and some T’s, I’m not sure how you can tell mine is a 1970?
    Confusing couple of years.

the 281## seems to be over the T serials listed, but then after 261000 the designation changed to C

that is why T2810## is confusing me

I suppose 1970 isn’t listed as they don’t know how high the numbers went. But the paragraph says T-prefixed guns exceeded T300000 and were shipped into 1970. Since the last 1969 gun was T261000, yours has to be 1970.

As Sherlock Holmes would say, It’s elementary.
