Hi all I have a new Browning BLR in .308 that I want to shoot with open sights. The factory sights are not the best in low light conditions. In NZ, there are no apparent aftermarket options, e.g. fibre optic sights. Before I go to the extreme hassle of filling in import forms and so on, I would really appreciate some suggestions for proven, high quality, high visibility open sights. Front and rear replacement, front only, whatever. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks
I've never seen any. I wish there was an aperture rear sight that utilized the rear predrilled scope-mounting holes. I also wish the front sight was hooded. But that said, I like the factory irons alright, and you can get very good with them with practice. Also eat your carrots and keep your eyeglasses prescription up to date!
I don't know if you got sorted or not? I've just bought a new BLR and it came with a fibre optic front sight, factory original! You might want to contact Browning to see if they'll fit yours.
