I picked up a used A-Bolt in 30-06. By the serial number it was made in 1988 so it is an A-Bolt-l. It came with a single 4 round magazine and I would like to buy another. Instead I am seeing 3 round magazines that look like they would fit. Why the two different sizes? Were there problems with 4 rounds jamming so 3 round mags were more reliable? Is it for some legal restriction on how many rounds a gun can legally hold? Or are the 3 round mags for a different gun? Is there a good source for 4 round mags? https://www.ebay.com/itm/2667711555...Zah9V2RGYjSv19c9m9G/gquP7p|tkp:Bk9SR6KW-YGuZA
I would call browning and ask that question if it were me. If no answer there then call Midwest gun works.
I ordered one of the 3-round magazines, and it arrived today. It looks just like my 4-round magazine and holds 4 rounds nicely.
