Got out and put 250rds through the Spartan this morning. I have to say I'm VERY pleased with its performance. Had zero issues an no failures of any kind. The Spartan locks up tight as a drum and the action is smoothe as silk. The trigger is light and crispas well. Recoil is very minimal which allows for very fast target acquisition on follow-up shots. The adjustable rear sight was dialed in from the start and the fiber optic front post lit up like a laser. I love my .45 1911s, but this 9mm is one helluva fun shooter. Here are two of the best targets of the day... Ten rounds @ 10yds Thirty rounds @ 25yds
Just installed a new 4140 bar stock steel mainspring housing with 30 LPI checkering and oversized magazine guide on the Spartan V. Also added extended bumper pads to the Checkmates. Reloads are going a lot smoother and faster now...
Switched out the grips on the RIA today to a new set of VZ Grips ETC-FRAG G10 panels in Dirty Olive... I love the dual texture of the ETC panels and the FRAG pattern provides an incredibly solid grip...
Okay, I'll revive this thread. (Photographed from left to right). Black Ops 1911 8/45. Sig Sauer 1911-22. Black Ops 1911 8/45. (Correction... photographed right to left. ;-) )
Kimber Master Carry Custom. Didn't like the grips so I replaced them with VZ G10 Elite Tactical Carry in Black Cherry. Was a little surprised that while most of the edges have been dehorned. The trigger guard both inside and out was not. Thinking about having that done then having both the frame and slide Cerekoted, not sure I would do the duo finish though.
Browning 1911-380 Black Label Medallion Pro vs Colt Series 70 Government Model 9mm with Aristocrat rib. Almost comical.
