Nearby yard sale. A bunch of kids clothing, some typical yard tool stuff, and a table of "stuff". I glance through the "stuff" and there lays a forearm for something. Could it be?.....naw.....it couldn't be. I dig through the other stuff and drag it out. Sure enough--a PRISTINE A5 forearm. Checkering looks like new, no scratches, no cracks----it is in fact like new. Not shiny enough for a newer Japanese A5. -----Hey, how much do you want for this chunk of wood? What's the tag say? -----There is no tag on it. Make you a deal, if you buy that, I will throw in this other rifle thing. -----What other rifle thing? This (a butt stock leaning up against a wall near the table they were sitting at.) ----What is it for? I dunno, but I think it goes with that. (The forearm I found on the table). A quick inspection indicated that was a correct declaration. ----Ok, how much for both of them? I said if you buy that thing, you can have this. -----Ok then, how much? How's $10? -----Deal, got any other parts laying around......? (They did not. Upon closer inspection after getting it home, it is for a 12 gauge, maybe from the 50's-60's. It's a round butt, no sticker in the channel on the forearm. LIKE NEW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) Even a blind squirrel trips over the walnut every once in a while.
Bill: I’m not sure who has more luck you or win7stw. You both have come up with some sweet deals. I’m glad someone is finding them. Congrats
