I had a bit of trouble finding scope bases for my X-Bolt Medallion - short action. Every time I googled a part #, I'd see a picture of scope bases with only 2 holes instead of 4 and I'd be wary of buying them. I ended up purchasing some Weaver Aluminum bases. Yes, the package came with 8 screws, all of equal length. I washed them with acetone and put a drop of oil before screwing them into the top of the receiver. I just wanted to say they were a perfect fit. They lined up perfectly with no resistance, or threat of stripping the threads when screwing in the screws. I tightened them to 16/inch pounds with my fat wrench. I found these at Wal-Mart (of all places) for $6.98. I used some Warne Scope Mounts/Rings (#202M) and they fit the Weaver bases perfectly too.
