A buddy of mine just drug this out of the closet after almost 30 years of rest. He asked
for my assistance in identifying and assessing the value of the old 28 ga.

    Any help is much appreciated.

    Thanks,

Nice gun. I think I can help a little bit. According to the NRA site, a suffix consisting of the letter F and a date code was added to the serial number in 1963. Data for 1960-62 is unavailable. My guess is the first three years they used an F prefix, making this gun from 1961.

For value, go to Gunbroker, Advanced Search, Completed Auctions to see what similar guns have sold for. You might not find another 28, I’d add about $500 to the price of a 12 gauge in the same condition. I’d guess around $2000.
