Hi everyone. Just purchased a Browning fn safari grade rifle and I’m just trying to figure out when this thing was made. The serial number has no prefix in front of it , it is 189xx. Barrel is marked , reciever is marked , bolt is marked as well as the wood. Could someone please tell me when this thing was made. I did find something about 1962 didn’t have a prefix in front of the serial numbers. Thanks so much! Tom
Looks like 1962 was the only year without prefixes, but if you call Browning they can tell you for sure.
