Hello all. I’m new to this sight so thanks for allowing me to be a part of it. About a week ago I bought a used Browning Safari in 30-06. It’s a beautiful gun but what I wondered was, it has no iron sights. Most I’ve seen in the past have them. Where the rear sight would be it has two factory holes and none at the end of the barrel. It has all the serial numbers where they should be and all match. Also has an L6 to start with so I think that makes it a 1966. Could you special order them without sights or did they just make some of them like that. Thanks for the help!
Hello Tom, and welcome. According to the NRA site, 1966 sounds correct. http://www.nramuseum.org/media/940941/serialization-date of manufacture.pdf Can’t help you with the iron sight issue, but you might call Browning.
