Hello out there im trying to identify the type of rifle i bought. I know its a browning short action 7mm-08 serial number is 31157PW117. My son dropped it and broke the stock at the range so I am trying to get a new stock. However i dont know what model it is.

The basic model (i.e. A-bolt II) should be stamped on the barrel, or possibly the receiver. Since you posted in the A-bolt section, I assume the rifle is an A-bolt of some sort(?). If so, the "PW" _should_ mean it was manufactured in 1984, but I won't promise that.
