It is not an auto-5 but.....

One of my friend called me before Christmas and ask me "are you not a Browning collector" I said yes, well you must see this one. It turned out I couldn’t resist this superposed engraved by none other than Félix Funken. I would have preferred an auto 5 by Funken but the superposed will do for now.

Thank Rudolph, it goes well with my 1931 and I think that will be it for my superposed collection.

Thank Justin. It would be nice to hunt pheasant in the Prairies with that Browning. Unfortunately it won’t make me a better hunter.

Well hopefully we can get together next fall when you are in Saskatchewan. Bring a first year A5 for me to shoot

I will and a first year engraved 16 gauge could be nice as well!

I hope it opens by the end of March. I’d love to get back to Lake Winnipeg for some more of those monster greenbacks

Thats a very nice one Biz. Not a fan of Browning Over and Unders but that one would make me change my mind.

Justin, you can imagine I know Lake Winnipeg, but, what is a greenback?

I am glad to me the beautiful sister, do you still have it? What is a narrow rib? Which year?

I was not a fan until I purchased the 1931 s.n. 458. Then I realized how perfection can be achieved. This Funken is a combination of perfect mechanics and art.

No Biz a serious collector like yourself wanted it right or wrong few years back so it moved on. They are the only images I ever had of it. It was 1952 model and had the 6mm hand filed rib. It was in very good condition and tight but had been used. No where near as nice as yours though. That stock looks beautiful

Hey Biz being serious browning collector your side of world and always looking do you ever come across many early double automatics. I see looking around site Rudolph has nice alloy one

That’s what the locals call the walleye that come out of that lake. Supposedly they get their green color from the limestone in the water. I’ve never seen walleye like those, they are beautiful.

We see them occasionally here in Canada and they are priced reasonably. I have seen the steel model and all the alloyed color. Very interesting shotgun for someone who would like to collect them.
