Congrats Rudolph. That’s a pretty neat send off So is the wife done with work too? I hope I get a year or two off before she retires. It’s only fair since she is younger than me
The wife is still at it, she’s too young for Medicare. They’re closing the STL domicile next month and she’ll be commuting to DFW. We’ll see how that goes. I might start flying again just to get her health benefits. And to avoid housework. The fire trucks — ARFF — Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting, gave me the traditional “Water Cannon Salute” as I taxied in after my last flight. It was arranged by the Chief Pilot’s Office. All the passengers applauded, it was pretty neat. The first video was taken by a friend waiting on the jetway, the second by a friend taxiing in who “just happened” to be there.
That is pretty cool. I figured it was something like that. Nice that they recognize your last flight for them. What an honor.
