    Hi,
i have an issue as i cant get the scope far enough back towards my eye to shoot comfortably without having to stretch forward to the scope to get a good sight picture
I have mounted the supplied pieces of mount both ways around yet even with the slots closest to me the forward lens bell of the scope is hitting the forward ring and wont allow the scope to come back any further( i have used this scope for many years on other rifles and its a favorite so i dont want to replace it)

so i need a full length rail rather than the two small pieces supplied ?
if i use a full length rail across the top of the breech will it still eject cleanly or do i need a specialist rail solution with a cut out ?
Any help most appreciated, deer season on hold until i get this fixed !

    2 choices:

    1) Replace the scope with one which offers more eye relief (or with a shorter objective lens bell)
    2) Replace the mounts (bases, or bases and rings both) so that you have greater flexibility in where to position the rings. A 1-piece, full-length rail is one way to accomplish this.

Clearly option 2 is less costly than option 1. You also said you don't want to pursue option 1. So, it looks like you're on the hunt for new mounts! I don't know who all offer mounts for the AB3, nor even whether the AB3 uses the same mounts as the A-bolt 2 or others. I know that EGW offers one-piece Picatinny rails for the AB3. Their web address is www.egwguns.com
I've been happy with the EGW mounts (bases) I've used before. Conetrol also most likely has something for your rifle. They make BEAUTIFUL mounts, and super low-profile, but I don't know whether their options would significantly move the ring position on your rifle or not. An email to Don Miller (runs the company now, since his brother George died) will be helpful if you can't find what you want on their website.
