As a first time owner of an A5, what parts would anyone recommend to keep on hand to keep the A5 running? I have purchased extra recoil springs, extra friction rings, action spring, action spring follower, action spring plug and action spring plug pin.

While the A5 is in the gun safe, would it be best to leave the barrel off to relieve tension on the recoil spring?

    Thanks for the replies.

You are off to a good start. Might not hurt to have an extra magazine spring.

I keep the barrels on my guns but it wouldn’t be a bad idea to store it with the barrel off.

The list of parts I have broken:

    Hammer (older lightened style)
    Firing Pin
    Locking Block (old style)
    Safety Sear Pin
    Left Extractor (old style)
    Carrier Spring (old style)

I’ve replaced one Action Spring Plug but keep several on hand. And it’s a good idea to keep replacement springs. But I can’t imagine ever needing a new Action Spring Follower.

I would add a couple of things to that list
    Locking screw
    Right hand extractor and spring
Bolt( breech block) esp if you have old thin rail. I have picked up some for 25.00. I bought a complete one for 27 on eBay, that would save a lot of money and heart ache if breaks.
When you have several gauges it’s gets to be a lot, but worth it to me
