    Hello,

I posted this in the BAR section but this section might get more eyes on it. I just picked up a Safari grade Mark II in 270 Weatherby. The gun shot both 130 and 150 grain spire points factory Weatherby ammo well. I'm looking for feedback on people's experiences of both on whitetail.
I live in northern WI and will be hunting 50-250 yds.

    Thanks!

That's a great caliber and those two bullet weights should drop a dear handily at those stated distances....!!

Post a picture of her when you find the time...

I shoot a 270 WSM, Not quite the same caliber, But about the same ballistics. I found for my gun that I got the best all around performance from 140g Barnes bullet.
I've shot elk head on and had that bullet penetrate from the base of the neck, down the spine and exit by the tail. You just don't need a harder hitting bullet.
That gun will do great for Whitetail deer at the ranges you suggest with the 130g bullet.

    Interesting.

Were those the All-Copper TSX? That's a great bullet on game.

I've shot Desert Bighorn, Mule Deer, and Elk with the 140g TSX @3350 fps and a nice Buffalo with a 300 WSM 165g TSX @3190 fps.
    They've worked great for me.
