What’s the consensus regarding removing a lanyard ring on a MK III? I want to change out my grips for some VZ’s I bought but I either have to remove the ring or modify the grips. I plan to carry the gun sometimes and don’t need the ring. Any thoughts? Also if I decide to remove it, what’s the best way?
Remove it. (I'm not a lanyard ring guy.) According to the FN manual you drive it out using a punch through the hole in the right side of the grip. Be careful as so according to the FN manual they maybe soldered in place.
Ended up using a drill. Worked fine. Grips are real nice. Highly recommended. Thanks for the advice. Who needs a lanyard?
