The quinessential blade from your childhood...a Buck Knife. How many here started their collections with this staple from the past...and how many will hand down an heirloom from their father to their son or daughter...the first knife in many a young persons hands.

This Buck was given to me by my Father on my 10th Birthday...the first of many fine edged weapons in my collection...

Here's another Buck knife that I purchased while on TDY ( Travel Duty ) for the DoD in San Diego, California. I would always pick up a pocket knife and a Zippo lighter from each destination I visited...

I started carrying a Buck 307 at age 18, had a sheath custom made locally for it and had it on my belt for 20 plus years at work until I finally replaced it with a fixed blade knife for easier accessibility.
It served me well! It's one my grandson will inherit.

Indeed Bill! He's on the top of my Idaho list next to Elmer Keith. Hoyt Buck had his apprenticeship in Kansas and at age 13 made his first knife.:gimme5:
