It’s Snowing here otherwise I would have taken some pictures outside. Here is the 1939 16 gauge I bought a couple months ago. I was finally able to get it from my LGS.

Not sure why but this is the second gun that the stock has turned black by the butt plate. Also the finish is kind of crazed.

This one might have to stay the way it is

It needs a plug. I might have to see if I can find someone with a wood lathe to spin some wooden 3 shot adapters for me

Beautiful gun, why did it take so long to get it from the local dealer? Also, a dowel and a handsaw will make a plug. I took one out of one of my guns that was just a right sized twig.

Very nice Justin, be careful, buying auto-5 is very addictive. Like Rudolph, I have made several plugs using 3/8" dowel that I cap with a 1/2" section from a 3/4" dowel.

Well basically Covid-19 is why. Plus my FFL is one of my best friends and he has been working 12 hour days for the last three months.

    I don’t make them, I take them out. It’s an Auto-5 for a reason.

It appears , that I read you to post on diagonal. Or may be I had to much Pinot noir.

Thanks Marc, I think I am good with A5’s for now. I am going to try and hold off for a really nice gun next. It’s hard for me to pass these old girls up though

I did find a package deal for two really nice 16’s for $1100. One with a 29.5” full choked barrel. The other with a 27.5” mod barrel and a spare 27.5” cylinder barrel. It has me thinking

Hey Justin, that is not to bad, it only took you one post to consider another sweet deal.

If I buy those two I will possibly sell a couple of my not so nice guns

Part of the collection, but I could send you the twig.

Nah I don’t need the twig. I’ll have to buy some dowels and build some. The lazy part of me says to buy them though

Actually, none of the 16’s had Browning plugs. Most had nothing, some had dowels, and one had the twig. The actual Browning parts came out of the 12’s. Probably because upland guns don’t need the restricted capacity.

Three of my 16’s had plugs in them. You still can only have 3 shells in the gun in a lot of states for upland game
